Steve BaloffSteve Baloff joined ATV in 1996 focusing primarily on new opportunities in software and internet infrastructure. Prior to joining ATV, Baloff was CEO and founder of Worldview Systems, developers of Travelocity, the leading travel web-site. Prior to this Mr. Baloff held a variety of executive positions at Covalent Systems, a vendor of shop floor data collection and business systems. Earlier, he was with the management consulting firm of Booz-Allen & Hamilton.
Currently, Baloff serves on the board of directors for several companies, including Compassoft, Liquid Engines, Black Pearl, Tripwire, and WildTangent. Previous investments include UpShot (acquired by Siebel Systems-SEBL), Striva (acquired by Informatica-INFA), ViryaNet (VRYA), Velogic (acquired by Keynote-KEYN), and Seeker Software (acquired by Concur-CNQR). Baloff holds an MBA from Stanford Graduate School of Business and a BA in Economics from Harvard College.
Justin LabelJustin Label is an investor with Bessemer Venture Partners in their Menlo Park, California office. Since joining Bessemer in 2001, he has focused on investments in early-stage infrastructure software companies, most notably in the data security and Internet infrastructure areas. He has been involved in most of Bessemer's recent data security investments including Elemental Security and Postini. He is also a Director of Finjan Software.
Prior to joining Bessemer, Justin made early-stage software investments at The Valent Group, including an investment in enterprise software company Trigo, which was acquired by IBM in 2004. Previously, he was a strategy consultant with the Boston Consulting Group.
Justin holds a B.A. from Harvard University in Applied Mathematics and Economics, and pursues philanthropic work that seeks to expand access to technology and capital through the Full Circle Fund and the National Foundation for Teaching Entrepreneurship.
James RichardsonJames Richardson has led an illustrious career in high tech over the past 25 years, and now acts as a consultant to high tech companies. His experience includes service as senior vice president and chief financial officer of WebTrends Corporation, which merged with NetIQ Corporation in March of 2001. Prior to WebTrends, Richardson was vice president and chief financial officer at Network General Corporation. There he managed the $1.2 billion merger with McAfee Associates, resulting in the creation of Network Associates. Before that, Richardson was vice president and chief financial officer of Logic Modeling Corporation, now a division of Synopsis, and vice president and chief financial officer of Advanced Logic Research.
Additionally, Richardson is a member of several committees including, FEI Company-Audit Committee Member, Digimarc Corporation-Audit Committee Chair, Governance Committee Member and Plumtree Software-Compensation Committee Chair & Audit and Nominating Committee Member.
He holds a doctorate degree in law, cum laude, from Northwestern School of Law of Lewis and Clark College and a master's degree in business administration from the University of Portland.
William W. LattinWilliam W. Lattin, Ph.D. has had a distinguished career in the semiconductor industry, spanning over 32 years of service. He began in 1969 with Motorola Semiconductor Company. From 1975 until 1986 Bill was with Intel Corporation. At Intel Bill was Vice President and General Manager of Intel's System Group. In 1986, Bill joined a start-up, Logic Automation, as President and CEO, and led Logic Automation from a start-up to a profitable $20M business. In 1992, Logic Automation and LMSI merged to form Logic Modeling. Bill ran Logic Modeling as President and CEO until 1994 when Synopsys acquired the company. Dr. Lattin joined the Synopsys Board of Directors in 1995 and retired as Executive Vice President of the company in October 1999.
Dr. Lattin serves on the Board of Directors of the FEI Company, Merix Corporation, easystreet Online Services Inc., Adexa Inc., WebCriteria Inc., Tripwire Inc., Corrent Corp., and is an active consultant with Vitesse Semiconductor.
Bill has a B.S.E.E., a M.S.E.E. from the University of California at Berkeley and a Ph.D. in Electrical Engineering from Arizona State University. As well, Dr. Lattin holds seven patents, is a Founding Member of VHDL International and is a Senior Member of IEEE.
Jim B. JohnsonAs CEO, Jim Johnson's rich background in building businesses provides Tripwire with the strategic leadership needed to increase company profitability and strengthen its global presence.
Prior to joining Tripwire, Jim spent 27 years at Intel, where among his many capacities he served as Vice President of the Technology and Manufacturing Group and Oregon site manager, general manager of the Internet Service Operation, and Director of Marketing for the Internet and Communications Group. Jim also co-founded and served as general manager of Intel's PC Enhancement Division (their retail products group), which he grew to over $500M in sales.
As a member of numerous boards, industry councils and through angel investing, Jim has pushed for greater technology/engineering education and economic development throughout the State of Oregon, and was instrumental in the establishment of Oregon's first nano- and micro-technology research center.
