Jim B. JohnsonAs CEO, Jim Johnson's rich background in building businesses provides Tripwire with the strategic leadership needed to increase company profitability and strengthen its global presence.
Prior to joining Tripwire, Jim spent 27 years at Intel, where among his many capacities he served as Vice President of the Technology and Manufacturing Group and Oregon site manager, general manager of the Internet Service Operation, and Director of Marketing for the Internet and Communications Group. Jim also co-founded and served as general manager of Intel's PC Enhancement Division (their retail products group), which he grew to over $500M in sales.
As a member of numerous boards, industry councils and through angel investing, Jim has pushed for greater technology/engineering education and economic development throughout the State of Oregon, and was instrumental in the establishment of Oregon's first nano- and micro-technology research center.
Gene KimGene H. Kim, CISA, is the co-founder of the IT Process Institute, and also CTO and founder of Tripwire, Inc. In 1992, he co-authored Tripwire while at Purdue University with Dr. Gene Spafford. In 2004, he wrote the Visible Ops Handbook and co-founded the IT Process Institute, dedicated to research, benchmarking and developing prescriptive guidance for IT operations and security management and auditors.
Although Gene is widely published on computer security, operating systems and networking in SANS, ACM and IEEE publications, he is continually fixated on the problems of process integrity issues in IT operations and security. He is currently actively working on a series of projects with the Software Engineering Institute and Institute of Internal Auditors to capture how "best in class" organizations have IT operations, security, management, governance and audit working together to solve common business objectives.Gene is currently serving on the Advanced Technology Committee for the Institute of Internal Auditors.
Gene holds a M.S. in computer science from University of Arizona and a B.S. in computer sciences from Purdue University. Most recently, Gene was honored as one of the "Top 4 CTOs to Watch" by InfoWorld magazine due to his "forward-thinking and leading-edge activities." He also served as co-chair of the April 2003 SANS technical workshop called Auditable Security Controls That Work, recently hailed by SANS as one of their top five gifts back to the community and one of their top initiatives for 2003. Gene co-chaired the Best In Class Security And Operations Roundtable (BIC-SORT) with the Software Engineering Institute in October 2003. Gene is certified on both IT management and audit processes, possessing both ITIL Foundations and CISA certifications.
Robert DiFalcoRobert DiFalco has driven Tripwire's enterprise strategy and architecture since 1999. He is the co-author of Tripwire Enterprise, which expanded Tripwire's capabilities to include a comprehensive change management program across a heterogeneous datacenter. His name is attached to two patents issued by the U.S. Patent Office in recognition of Tripwire's pioneering technology.
DiFalco has 20 years experience creating commercial software. Prior to joining Tripwire, he worked for several software startups and was also an internal software engineer creating business applications for companies such as Countrywide Home Loans, Brobeck, Phleger & Harrison, and Willis Caroon. He is a noted speaker and author, having written for a variety of online and print publications on development techniques and software architecture, and has spoken at industry conferences such as BMC User World and Sun JavaOne.
Before pursuing a career in software development, DiFalco studied music composition and theory at Warner Pacific College, and was a full-time musician for several years.
Robert C. McCarthyBob McCarthy is Vice President and CFO of Tripwire, Inc., and is responsible for Finance, HR and Operations.
Prior to joining Tripwire in 1999, Bob had been CFO of several development-stage software companies in the Portland area, including Quantitative Technology Corporation, CAChe Scientific, which was acquired by Oxford Molecular Group, and Eagle Design Automation, which was acquired by Synopsys.
Bob received his BS from the University of San Francisco and his MBA from Golden Gate University.
Dan SchoenbaumAs Tripwire's Chief Operating Officer of Products, Dan is charged with leading all aspects of the company's products strategy, from Engineering to Marketing and Corporate Development. Dan's ultimate role is to enable and support Tripwire's continued strong growth and global market leadership. Prior to joining Tripwire, Dan served as Chairman of Mergers and Acquisitions and Vice President of Strategy at Compuware Corporation (NASDAQ: CPWR), a billion-dollar software and professional services company. Prior to joining Compuware, he spent eight years at Mercury Interactive (acquired by HP), where he created and managed a line of products that sparked the company's growth and built the company's strategic alliances program. In addition, Dan served as Vice President of Business Development at SeeRun Corporation, where he led sales and marketing.
Dan currently sits on the Board of Directors of the Software Association of Oregon (SAO), heads the advisory board at Cenzic, and was on the Board of Directors at Compassoft. Previously, he was a member of the advisory board at nLayers (acquired by EMC) and was a founding member of appSIC, the Application Security Industry Consortium. Dan received two years of combat and leadership training in the Israel Defense Forces, where he was a First Sergeant in the Paratroopers. Dan received a BS in Marketing and Computer Science from The American University and completed the UC Berkeley's Haas School of Business Entrepreneurship & Innovation Program.
Bob DunneAs Vice President of Worldwide Sales, Bob Dunne brings to Tripwire over 28 years of sustained success at all levels of high technology sales management. Most recently, Dunne led sales and worldwide services for Merant PLC, a software development company focused on enterprise IT asset configuration management. Prior to Merant, Dunne led worldwide sales for RadiSys, a developer of embedded systems, and Webridge, an Internet software infrastructure company. Bob's initiation into sales and marketing was with IBM, followed by senior management positions at Mentor Graphics and Zycad, and 12 years with Tektronix in a variety of key management positions, including vice president of sales of its Video & Networking Division and general manager of the Network Computing Group.
Aaron Lerner Aaron (Rony) Lerner joins Tripwire as Vice President of Engineering. Bringing years of product development and management experience to Tripwire's recognized team of industry experts, Rony will be responsible for growing and extending the company's market-leading software products across a wide range of industries to help customers meet compliance regulations, improve security and drive IT efficiency. Prior to joining Tripwire, Rony was Vice President of Research and Development for the Database Management Business Unit of Quest Software Inc., where he led the development and release of more than 40 products, with 250 engineers distributed in 20 locations across four continents. Rony earned his Bachelor of Science degree in Computer Science from the Israel Institute of Technology in Haifa, Israel. Rony also served eight years in the Israeli Air Force, where he received intensive technical and officer's leadership training. He retired with the rank of Major.
Kevin McKayKevin McKay has over 20 years of experience in the high technology and enterprise software industries. As Vice President of Services, Kevin is responsible for driving the growth, direction and strategic intent of Tripwire's Professional Services. Prior to joining Tripwire, Kevin was Vice President of Professional Services at MarketLive, a leading e-commerce technology company. During his tenure at MarketLive, the Professional Services organization grew revenue quarter over quarter by over 56 percent. Prior to that, Kevin served as Director of Technical Marketing at Serena Software, one of the largest change and configuration management companies, where he was instrumental in the development of the ITIL- and CCM-based assessments offerings that provide Serena's consultants with a toolkit to jumpstart process improvement engagements with its customers.
Dwayne MelançonDwayne Melançon joined Tripwire in 2000 and serves as Tripwire's Vice President of Corporate and Business Development leading the company's strategic partnerships and alliances. In previous positions at the company, Dwayne was vice president of Professional Services and Support, Information Systems, and Marketing.
Prior to joining Tripwire, Dwayne was Vice President of Operations for DirectWeb, Inc., where he was responsible for product management, logistics, electronic supplier integration, customer support, information systems, infrastructure development, and other business operations. Before DirectWeb, he ran Pan-European Support for Symantec Corporation, managed support for several of Symantec's leading product lines, and spearheaded the development of tools and processes. In other positions, Dwayne was responsible for Symantec's global Web presence, program management for Symantec's encryption products, and functional integration for mergers and acquisitions. Prior to joining Symantec, Dwayne spent eight years at Fifth Generation Systems, Inc. where he created an award-winning global support organization, was a software developer, and directed the company's software and hardware Quality Assurance teams.
Dwayne is certified on both IT management and audit processes, possessing both ITIL Foundations and CISA certifications.
