QUT Selects Tripwire Enterprise for Configuration Assessment and Change Auditing
Sydney, NSW, Autralia - Jun 16, 2009 - Tripwire, Inc. announced today that the Queensland University of Technology (QUT) has implemented Tripwire Enterprise, a configuration assessment and change auditing solution, to gain complete IT infrastructure integrity across its three campuses and live up to its reputation as a centre of technology excellence.
With 40,000 students and 3,800 employees, Brisbane-based QUT, like many institutions of higher learning, needs to ensure that file attributes, network device configurations and data structures are not unknowingly changed – either through internal accidents or from malicious outside attacks. If an undesirable change occurs, QUT's IT team needs to be able to quickly pinpoint the change, prevent further file damage or downtime and restore files to a known and trusted state.
QUT selected Tripwire Enterprise to provide a single point of control for detecting changes to servers, network devices, firewalls and desktops across distributed physical and virtual IT infrastructure. Tripwire's customisable reports and dashboards provide QUT with documentation for demonstrating effective change management processes.
"We chose Tripwire Enterprise based on our previous experience with Tripwire for Servers and Tripwire Manager. As our infrastructure grows and we increase our number of virtual servers, we needed a solution that we could trust to give us better visibility into our overall configuration and change management processes," said Adrian Yarrow, Manager, Enterprise Servers and Storage, QUT. "Tripwire Enterprise has made detecting, reconciling and reporting change a much simpler task and has improved our productivity. We have been highly satisfied with the results we've achieved with Tripwire."
QUT is now investigating the use of Tripwire solutions for policy compliance and implementing add-on modules for VMware ESX, Oracle and Active Directory for high risk applications.
