Tripwire Appoints Andrew Heather as Director of Sales, EMEA

Portland, OR - Feb 4, 2009 - Tripwire, the industry leader in configuration control, has appointed Andrew Heather as Director of Sales, EMEA. The appointment follows a year of record growth for Tripwire in 2008; during the last 12 months Tripwire achieved a 27 percent year over year growth, a 33.3 percent growth in its EMEA employee base and it now has 6,550 customers worldwide.

Andrew Heather will be based at Tripwire’s London office and he will be responsible for delivering EMEA revenue growth across four European sales teams, two based in the UK, one in the Benelux, and one representing Germany, Austria and Switzerland.

Heather has 25 years of IT experience in sales management, engineering, and technical service roles. He moved to Tripwire from a leading UK Systems Integrator where he was responsible for a Data Centre Solutions business. Previously Heather was the UK sales manager at Opsware and held a number of sales roles at Network Appliance, Sun Microsystems and IBM.

Heather comments, "I look forward to sustaining Tripwire’s position as the market leader in configuration control in EMEA, delivering products that aid IT departments in tackling the challenges of virtualisation to ensure that they receive all the cost benefits and productivity improvements that this technology can deliver."

Robert Kidd, General Manager, EMEA at Tripwire comments, "We welcome Andrew Heather to Tripwire. His commercial experience will be instrumental in our international growth as we ensure Tripwire’s leadership position worldwide and continue to develop deep customer relationships."

Tripwire’s sustained growth in 2008 has been fueled by its ability to address market needs for new technologies that address a wide variety of compliance activities. In 2008, Tripwire introduced Tripwire Enterprise 7.5V, focused on helping IT address emerging issues around virtualisation security and virtual sprawl.  Tripwire continued to expand its configuration assessment product, introducing policies to address NERC; FISMA; FDCC; Microsoft Exchange and IIS; VMware ESX; Oracle 10g; ISO 27001; MiFID and enhanced support for SOX and COBIT.  Tripwire now offers more policies and remediation guidance than any other vendor in the marketplace.

ConfigCheck, a free utility developed by Tripwire, and its complementary remediation guide have been viewed and downloaded by more than 60,000 people since its introduction.  In addition, Tripwire announced tailored solutions to help retailers and hospitality merchants directly address Payment Card Industry (PCI) Data Security Standards, adding to its position as a leader in file integrity monitoring.
