Tripwire Unveils Systems Center Operations Manager R2-Ready Data Center Compliance Solution at 2009 Microsoft Management Summit

Las Vegas, NV - Apr 28, 2009 - Tripwire, the leading provider of configuration control solutions for virtual and physical infrastructure, today announced its new Tripwire Compliance Management Pack for Microsoft System Center Operations Manager 2007 R2. With this new data center management solution, for the first time Microsoft System Center users will be able to understand and support compliance just as they do performance and availability, without the need to learn a new tool.

Tripwire Enterprise contains a massive library of preconfigured IT policies for physical and virtual data center infrastructure and each policy has configurable severity and responses upon violation. When the monitored infrastructure moves out of compliance based on pre-configured monitors, Tripwire escalates the exception to Microsoft System Center Operations Manager 2007. Specific recommendations for each exception are offered, along with step-by-step instructions to correct non-compliant settings. Customers have the choice of remediating manually or automatically via System Center Virtual Machine Manager (SCVMM).

With the combination of Tripwire Enterprise and Microsoft Systems Center Operation Manager 2007, users will be able to monitor, manage and control heterogeneous IT configurations for continuous security and compliance, helping maintain established change management policies, and alerting users to non-compliant configuration changes. Systems Center Operations Manager users will be able to meet compliance objectives without having to learn specific compliance details, as Tripwire Enterprise brings that knowledge directly to Microsoft users. Instead, users can focus on keeping systems available and healthy—all while ensuring compliance.

"System Center delivers broad management capabilities across the physical and virtualized IT infrastructure, helping customers to drive down costs, improve overall operational efficiency and have more control over their entire environments," said Ryan O’Hara, director System Center Product Management, Microsoft. "Tripwire’s IT compliance solution, which integrates with Microsoft System Center Operations Manager 2007 R2, delivers capabilities that enable enterprises to extend management configuration control and compliance across physical and virtual infrastructure."

Tripwire released the Tripwire Compliance Management Pack for Microsoft System Center Operations Manager 2007 in February, 2009 to a select group of customers and already has 25 customers using the integration successfully within their environment. It is now available worldwide as an integration add-on to customers using Tripwire Enterprise version 7.5V or later.

"Tripwire and Microsoft worked together to deliver its customers a single destination for managing heterogeneous IT environments—across vendors and environments," said Dwayne Melançon, vice president of Corporate and Business Development at Tripwire. "Through the System Center management suite, Tripwire Enterprise allows customers to measure against their security, compliance and operational policies, and maintain continuous compliance across the data center."

Tripwire is presenting and exhibiting at the Microsoft Management Summit (MMS) 2009 as part of a group of "PRO-enabled" management packs, helping enterprises maintain a secure, compliant, and consistent IT environment. Mr. Melançon will be blogging and tweeting this year from the floor of the MMS event. Customers can follow his communication missives by logging onto
