Corporate History
Tripwire, Inc. was founded in 1997 with a viable product used by thousands of customers. In 1992, Dr. Eugene Spafford and Gene Kim, co-founder & CTO of Tripwire, created the initial release of Tripwire software at Purdue University. Since then, Tripwire technology received widespread support and is recognized as an essential part of best practices for corporate, education, and government IT professionals. As a result, more than one million copies of Tripwire have been downloaded and over 250,000 are in active use.
