Implementing a Cyber Security Continuous Monitoring Strategy
Despite significant security and compliance investments, the federal government is still battling numerous cyber breaches and security incidents. The evolution of threats, from exploitation to destruction, requires a strategic shift in the government’s cyber strategy. Part of that strategy includes automated continuous monitoring of security controls to facilitate near real-time risk management. As a result, OMB has issued a draft requiring a real-time continuous monitoring of security controls. However, recent statistics show only 6% of federal managers say they have a mature continuous monitoring environment.
