NERC-CIP Quick Reference Guide
The North American Electric Reliability Corporation (NERC) is a federally designated nonprofit corporation that ensures the bulk electric system in North America is reliable, adequate and secure. To meet that goal, NERC enforces comprehensive reliability standards for planning and operating the collective bulk power system, including the Critical Infrastructure Protection (CIP) Cyber Security Standards.
NERC-CIP Standards 001-009 collectively establish all policies for the hardening and security of critical cyber assets in energy-related facilities throughout North America. This Quick Reference Guide gathers all of these requirements in a simple to use guide, and shows how Tripwire solutions address many of these requirements for technical controls across multiple platforms, operating systems, and device types, especially as it relates to the following CIPs:
- CIP-002 Critical Cyber Asset Identification
- CIP-003 Security Management Controls
- CIP-005 Cyber Security - Electronic Security Perimeter(s)
- CIP-007 Cyber Security - Systems Security management
