Secure FDCC and USGCB Configuration Baselines

All federal agencies using Microsoft XP and Windows Vista machines are required to meet and prove compliance with the Federal Desktop Core Configuration (FDCC) in order to improve security, reduce costs, and decrease application-compatibility issues. Compliance with FDCC means rigorous assessment and maintenance of your IT configuration is vital, and that compliant settings can be proved via thorough reporting.

The U.S. Government Configuration Baseline (USGCB), formerly known as the Federal Desktop Core Configuration (FDCC) aim is to increase security and reduce costs, while creating a more managed desktop environment

Compliance with USGCB means rigorous assessment and maintenance of your IT configuration is vital, and that compliant settings can be proved via thorough reporting.
