RSA 2010: What are the new and old (yet still relevant) issues CISOs have to deal with?

by David Spark on March 4, 2010 David Spark

David Spark here reporting for Tripwire at the 2010 RSA Conference in San Francisco.

Jim Maloney is the President of Cyber Risk Strategies and it’s his job is to work with CISOs (Chief Information Security Officers) and companies that need to understand the needs by CISOs.

Maloney has written plenty about this subject, so I asked him what are the top issues for CISOs that never go away, and what are some of the new issues they’re tackling. Off camera, Maloney told me that one other new issue CISOs have to deal with are employees that want to bring their personal machines onto the corporate network.
