Rekha Shenoy, vice president of marketing and corporate development for Tripwire, will present at the Gartner Security & Risk Management Summit.

The event takes place June 10 – 13, 2013, at the Gaylord National Resort & Convention Center in National Harbor, Maryland.

“Gartner Security & Risk Management Summit is the premier gathering for senior IT and business executives across IT security and risk management, including privacy, compliance, BCM, IT disaster recovery and business resiliency,” the organizers of the event stated.

“The summit offers five role-based programs that delve into the entire spectrum of role evolution in IT security and risk, including: network and infrastructure security, IAM, compliance, privacy, fraud, BCM and resilience.”

During her presentation, Shenoy will discuss how security and risk professionals can report their performance to Boards of Directors in an effective and clear manner.

Shenoy also provide practical examples of the best ways to translate technical security information into business terms non-security executives can understand.

Who: Rekha Shenoy, vice president of marketing, Tripwire Inc.
When: June 12, 2013, 9:15 a.m. to 10:15 a.m.

In the video above, Shenoy shares her experience with proving her department’s relevance to the business, likening it to a CISO who must prove how security is relevant to the business.

“The key trend that is driving both behavior and purchasing is really all about showing how the security solution – everything from the people to the process and technology – is actually providing the results it need to to the business,” Shenoy said.

“The role of the CISO is not to just provide security for security’s sake, but security and proof that it is actually mitigating risk and enabling the business,” Shenoy continued.

Shenoy joined Tripwire in April 2007, bringing with her an extensive background leading product management teams to deliver maximum customer value. She holds an MBA in Marketing and Finance from Rice University, and received a BS in Computer Science and Engineering from the University Visvesvaraya College of Engineering in Bangalore, India.
