Tripwire Security Researcher to Present at Black Hat USA 2015
PORTLAND, Ore. — July 22, 2015 — Tripwire, Inc., a leading global provider of advanced threat, security and compliance solutions, today announced that Travis Smith, senior security analyst, will be presenting at Black Hat USA 2015. The conference will take place August 1-6, 2015, at the Mandalay Bay Convention Center in Las Vegas, Nevada.
Open source tools help IT professionals store and visualize data in their environments and can provide rich security context when combined with open source and commercial threat intelligence. However, important risk indicators are often missed due to the large amount of data these tools collect. In this presentation, Smith will discuss how to combine popular open source tools and commercial security frameworks to identify and act on real threats.
Presentation attendees will learn:
- How to integrate open source network security monitoring with free and robust intelligence feeds to identify current and emerging threats in real time.
- How to use both open source and commercial tools to aggregate and correlate data from endpoints and the network to identify exploited systems.
- How to use a combination of open source and commercial tools to better orchestrate detective controls and automate incident response activities for faster remediation.
Details of Smith’s Presentation:
