Tripwire donated $1 per vote received during RSA Conference 2018
PORTLAND, Ore. – May 16, 2018 – Tripwire, Inc., a leading global provider of security and compliance solutions for enterprises and industrial organizations, today announced that it has made donations to The Electronic Frontier Foundation (EFF), Girls Who Code, Hackers for Charity, and Women in Technology totaling nearly $5,000 based on votes received during RSA Conference 2018 (RSAC).
During RSAC, Tripwire asked event participants and social media followers to vote for one of four organizations (chosen earlier by Tripwire's Twitter followers). For each vote, Tripwire donated $1, resulting in a combined total of $4,693. The amount received per organization was determined by the number of votes each organization received during the event.
Girls Who Code earned the most votes and received a donation of $1,516. In second place, EFF received $1,166. Hackers for Charity received $1,010 and Women in Technology received $1,001.
"We are more than thrilled to support the great work these organizations are doing in the tech and infosec community," said Cindy Valladares, director of corporate communications at Tripwire. "EFF, Girls Who Code, Hackers for Charity and Women in Technology are taking on some of the biggest issues related to tech, and participants certainly showed their enthusiasm and passion for these organizations as they cast their votes."
To vote, RSAC attendees visited the Tripwire booth and took a button that represented the organization of their choice. Alternatively votes could be submitted through Tripwire's Twitter, Facebook and Instagram channels by posting #Tripwire4Tech and the name of the organization.
