Tripwire today announced that Elizabeth Ireland, vice president of marketing, will be moderating a panel discussion on cybersecurity strategy at the Gartner Security and Risk Management Summit 2014. The conference will take place June 23-26, 2014, at the Gaylord National Resort and Convention Center in National Harbor, Maryland.
Many factors impact the success of cybersecurity programs, including organizational challenges such as financial limitations, limited resources, poorly defined risk appetite and multiple compliance demands. The panel will discuss how organizations can implement the 20 Critical Security Controls – a third-party validated, authoritative framework – to make security practical, effective and aligned to the business.
Panel members include Jane Holl Lute president and chief executive officer of the Council on CyberSecurity and former deputy secretary of the Department of Homeland Security; and Jeff Franklin, chief information security officer for the State of Iowa.
Session attendees will learn how to:
- Plan finances when security has not been incorporated into a budget
- Standardize security metrics across all agencies and business units and compare them to industry peers
- Formalize a security progress and remediation plan for the top five critical security controls
