I recently traveled to Tokyo to celebrate our 10th Anniversary in Japan. To commemorate the occasion, I was joined by Tripwire’s CEO Jim Johnson, our Managing Director for Asia Pacific, Robert Kidd, and our Japanese coworkers.

As part of the celebration, we hosted a very successful User Conference, where we had the opportunity to meet over eighty of our customers and channel partners. Besides our own Tripwire presentations, we had speakers from Unisys, an external consultant and AXA Technology Japan. This last presentation was my absolute favorite one, delivered by Robert Veres, Regional Security Manager. He talked about “Greater Security and Compliance While Lowering the Total Cost of Ownership” and shared valuable insights on how to move from the checklist compliance mentality to that of broader security. Mr. Veres also performed an ROI analysis of manual vs. automated policy compliance. I’m on my quest to broadcast this presentation to as many individuals as possible.

In addition to the User Conference, I had the opportunity to learn more about the security and compliance market in Japan, and share our corporate vision and expertise in the space. For this, I met with press editors, security analysts and consultants in the field. I had a few crazy busy days, but very well  seized.
