Every security professional has one if not many security nightmares. If they’re lucky, they get to go through their entire profession without a single one being realized. Don’t count on it. It’s like the rare cop who goes through his whole profession without ever taking his gun out of his holster.

Do security horror scenarios play out in your head? At the RSA Conference in San Francisco I asked attendees, “What’s your greatest security nightmare?”

Many had difficulty limiting it to just one, while one security professional I interviewed said he couldn’t think of one security nightmare because every day is a nightmare. Watch, and be afraid, very afraid.
