Whitehat hacker Moxie Marlinspike was recently contacted by a Saudi telecommunications company that wanted to spy on their customers. The company had millions of subscribers and wanted intercept data for a government surveillance project.

Moxie balked at the proposition, but admitted the information the Saudi Telco wanted would not have been difficult for him to obtain. In the end, just how common and easy is government snooping?
