The European Union recently voted in a sweeping cyber security directive. The legislation will force organizations to report data breaches within 24 hours, circulate early warnings about cyber incidents and much more. Organizations that do not comply will face serious fines.

  • Awesome discussion everyone. As a small business owner in the US, it seems as though the government is seriously trying to target small business. They don't seem to think how hard these new regulations are on us. Obamacare, cybersecurity, etc. They expect us to implement all of these and keep up with big business when the funds simply aren't there. I will definitely be posting this to my site and social media.

    Enjoyed reading your post, but please do make sure you get the facts straight! No reason for concern yet, the NIS Directive has certainly NOT been voted in yet and is still very much under consideration!
