Tripwire Configuration Compliance Manager Now Covers Nearly 700 Policies and Platforms
PORTLAND, Ore. — February 2, 2016 — Tripwire, Inc., a leading global provider of end point detection and response, security and compliance solutions, today announced that Tripwire® Configuration Compliance ManagerTM (CCM) now covers nearly 700 policy and platform combinations. The comprehensive coverage provided by Tripwire CCM is identical to the policy library supporting Tripwire® Enterprise, the industry’s most widely deployed security configuration management product. Together, these solutions allow organizations to choose either agent-based or agentless continuous compliance solutions based on the unique requirements of their businesses and industries.
“Enforcing strong configuration standards across an enterprise is a hard and fast requirement in today’s environment of cyber threats and data breaches,” said Dwayne Melancon, CTO and vice president of research and development. “This leap forward in capability makes it easier than ever to not only stay secure, but to be able to demonstrate compliance across the entire enterprise.”
Tripwire CCM delivers agentless asset discovery as well as compliance and patch auditing solutions, helping organizations analyze the compliance and security posture on a wide range of network infrastructure devices including servers, wireless routers, switches, gateways, firewalls, headless networked devices and end-user devices such as laptops.
Tripwire CCM can be deployed quickly, lowering the cost of compliance for customers and accelerating enterprise-wide compliance visibility. Additionally, Tripwire CCM includes a powerful compliance and audit feature designed to allow users to quickly find patches that have not been applied correctly or are missing. Using the Tripwire CCM console or an easy-to-use report, users have immediate, enterprise-wide visibility into the compliance status of all monitored systems and can quickly identify and remediate compliance issues before they present a serious audit or security issue.
There were over 40,000 updates to global compliance standards in 2014 – a number that is expected to continue to grow aggressively. Organizations of every size struggle to keep up with diverse, overlapping state, federal and international regulations. The 2015 Verizon PCI Compliance report indicates that only one in five companies demonstrated that they were able to sustain compliance in between audit cycles.
Tripwire CCM is complementary to Tripwire Enterprise, an agent-based configuration and compliance management solution. Both solutions deliver comprehensive security configuration management, compliance management and auditing for organizations of any size. Both Tripwire CCM and Tripwire Enterprise include a rich library of policies based on standards and benchmarks from NIST, CIS, DISA and Microsoft, as well as policies for specific regulations, including:
- North American Electric Reliability Corporation standards (NERC).
- Payment Card Industry Data Security Standard (PCI DSS).
- Federal Information Security Modernization Act (FISMA).
- Health Insurance Portability and Accountability Act (HIPAA).
- United States Government Configuration Baseline (USGCB).
