Privileged credentials play a role in 80 percent of cybersecurity breaches, yet most organizations still rely on manual privileged access management (PAM).1 That’s why an increasing number of organizations are adopting PAM solutions in order to help secure, control, manage and monitor access to critical assets.
Both Tripwire® Enterprise and Tripwire IP360™ require credentialed access to perform remote scans in order to collect change, configuration and vulnerability data. We created Tripwire Password Manager to let our customers fully leverage their investment into PAM solutions by developing a Tripwire App that integrates Tripwire Enterprise and Tripwire IP360 with their PAM. This allows users to retrieve credentials from the PAM, eliminating the need to manage scan credentials within Tripwire Enterprise or Tripwire IP360 directly.
What is Privileged Access Management?
Organizations use PAM solutions to help secure, control, manage and monitor privileged access to critical assets. PAM solutions eliminate the need for hardcoded passwords by making them available on-demand to applications that require privileged access. Tripwire Enterprise and Tripwire IP360 require credentials to collect change, configuration and vulnerability data. But organizations that use PAM solutions may not have hardcoded credentials that Tripwire Enterprise and Tripwire IP360 can use.
How Tripwire Password Manager Works
Tripwire Password Manager acts as an information broker between a PAM solution and Tripwire Enterprise or Tripwire IP360. It supports the following PAM solutions:
- CyberArk
- TPAM
Customers can configure the integration themselves or engage with Tripwire Professional Services for assistance.
Tripwire Password Manager uses a pluggable architecture that enables support for additional PAM solutions through an engagement with Tripwire Professional Services.
To start using Tripwire Password Manager today, download it from the Tripwire Customer Center—it’s freely available to all Tripwire Enterprise and Tripwire IP360 customers, and is available under “Extras.” If you have a PAM solution that isn’t already supported and you would like to use it with Tripwire Password Manager, please reach out to your account rep to start a conversation about having the PAM solution module created.
